Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Position

Location: Gallipolis, Ohio
Contract Length: 10 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Patient Load: 12-20 patients per day

Job Summary

Seeking a Radiation Therapist with experience in Radiation Oncology. The role involves operating specialized equipment including Varian True Beam Linear Accelerator and Siemens CT. Charting is done using the Aria system. No weekend or on-call duties required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiation Therapist license in Ohio
• Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Familiarity with Varian True Beam Linear Accelerator and Siemens CT
• Open to first-time travel therapists

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (must carry while on assignment)
• Social Security Card
• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, counties lived/worked, statewide, national criminal, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, OFAC
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (updated monthly)
• BCI and FBI fingerprinting within 12 months of start (valid for 5 years)
• Education verification (required for allied health professionals)
• Physical exam confirming ability to work without restrictions (within 6 months for acute care)
• Fit mask testing within 6 months of start (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Quantiferon Gold acceptable; Tspot not accepted)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination)
• Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccination or signed declination for the 2025-26 flu season (deadline varies by start date)
• COVID vaccination proof or signed declination

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific documents prior to start, including confidentiality agreements, orientation packets, dress and appearance policies, code of conduct, and others
• Recent passport-style photo for badge issuance (effective for placements starting on or after 8/26/24)
• Unit-specific competency exam with annual renewal
• 2 positive professional references related to similar clinical experience preferred
• Employment application documenting 3 years of prior work history, including at least 2 years in acute care and similar specialty area
• Radiation badge required (provided by facility)

Work Environment and Notes

• No floating or weekend/on-call requirements
• Scrub color: Any solid color combination
• Locals allowed at the same rate as travelers
