CT Tech Travel/Contract Job in Indiana
Location
- City: Muncie, Indiana
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per week: 36
- Daily Caseload: Approximately 160 cases
- Unit: Inpatient setting with a wide variety of cases from a Level III Trauma Center Emergency Department
Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
- ARRT CT Certification (mandatory)
- State License verification required within 30 days before start date (primary source verification)
Required Experience and Skills
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (CT Tech)
- Required experience with:
- Inpatient, Emergency Room, Community Hospital, Adult ICU
- PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
- Contrast administration
- Imaging of Abdomen, Pelvis, Head/Neck, Chest, Spine, Musculoskeletal system
- Brain Perfusion, CT Angiographies (CTAs), Multiplanar Reconstruction
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Outpatient imaging
- Level I Trauma Center experience
- Teaching Hospital experience
- Pediatric settings: Children's Hospital, NICU, PICU
- IV starts, Phlebotomy
- Biopsies, Aspirations/Biopsies, Drainage procedures
- Myelography
- Experience with Cerner electronic health records
- Familiarity with GE scanner/equipment
Required Background and Documentation
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
- Background Check within 90 days of start, including:
- 7 years of residence/work history
- SSN Trace, County Criminal, Statewide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level III
- Education Verification (highest applicable education)
- International search if lived/worked outside the US in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Transcript or Diploma (official, clear copy)
- Employment Application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years (must be from charge, manager, supervisor, or above)
- Skills Checklist completed within 12 months and annually
- Competency exams including unit competency and medication/pharmacology test
- Color Blind Testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent, minimum 100% score)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start date
- Fit Mask test within 12 months (N95 or approved respirators); on-site fit testing available with prior approval
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Mumps: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted; history not accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tuberculosis test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year; if positive, chest X-ray required within 2 years
- TB Questionnaire updated annually
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31); declinations not accepted
Additional Notes
- Orientation Safety Manual and HIPAA Acknowledgement required
- Facility-specific compliance and confidentiality forms must be completed prior to start
- Self-study orientation and competency tests may be required before starting
- No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are welcome
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Indiana
- Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification
- ARRT CT certification
- Experience working in an inpatient setting
