Cath Lab Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Flagstaff, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Hours per week: 40 hours
- Weekend Requirement: As needed, usually every other weekend
- On-Call Requirement: Yes, 18 days of call in an 8-week period
- Floating: Required to float to pre- and post-cath lab areas
- Scheduling: No blocked scheduling; unit manager approval required for return to office (RTO) restrictions
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week; facility may call off up to 6 times during the 13-week assignment
- Scrub Color: Any scrub color allowed
- Charting System: Cerner
- Parking: Free parking available

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Arizona
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ARRT certification
- Experience with SEMI (specific equipment/system)
Additional Requirements
- References: Two professional references required; one from the most recent employer within 1 year, second within 2 years
- Employment History: Complete employment application covering last 3 years; gaps over 30 days must be documented with city and state
- Background Checks:
- 7-year background check within 30 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification required (diploma or transcripts acceptable if verification pending)
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
- Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year and updated annually; PAPR not an option except in rare department-approved cases
- Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or Tspot) within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray and TB questionnaire required for past positives
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred within 10 years or declination)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if low titer)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, 3-dose series, or declination)
- Drug testing: 10-panel within 30 days of start, updated annually
- COVID vaccination series or declination with facility-specific form
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination form; mask required if declined
- Competency Exams: Must be completed within 1 year of start with minimum passing scores (medication/pharmacology, fall prevention, core competencies)
- Security and Compliance:
- Must complete and sign security question form at least one week prior to start
- Must complete and sign travel information verification prior to start
- Must review and sign facility-specific policies including confidentiality, substance abuse screening, professional attire and appearance
- Facility-Specific Documents:
- Photo for badge (clear headshot with preferred background)
- Facility-specific job description form for Cath Lab RN
Special Notes
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Call team consists of 3 members (1 RN and 2 techs); RN must be comfortable functioning independently during call
- Radiation badge required for this role; must complete Radiation Badge Request Form within 1 week of contract signing
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs seeking a travel contract in a Level I trauma teaching hospital setting with a structured 4x10 day shift schedule.
