Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Center
Location
- Albany, Georgia
Contract Length
- 17 weeks
Shift Details
- 12-hour shifts
- Day shift
- Every other weekend and holiday required
Patient Population & Environment
- Emergency Department with approximately 180-200 patient visits per day
- Patient age range: Pediatrics to geriatrics
- Trauma cases accepted; some neuro trauma and ortho cases are transferred out
- No burn patients kept on site
- Certified as a CVA (stroke) center
- Behavioral lockdown area with 6 beds staffed by psychiatric personnel
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – mandatory
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) or ASLS (Advanced Stroke Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of nursing experience in Emergency Department, including experience within the last year
- At least 1 or more completed travel nursing assignments
- Experience in charge nurse roles
- Experience in larger hospital settings
- Proficient with Meditech EMR (version 6.15)
Orientation & Training
- Floor-specific orientation: 2 shifts
- Expectation to complete Orientation Readiness Training (ORT) during the first week unless otherwise approved
Staffing & Support
- Charge nurse present
- Nurse aides/paramedics available (5-6 per shift)
- Central monitoring techs for telemetry/monitoring
- 24/7 respiratory therapists dedicated to the ER managing ventilated patients
- Pharmacy services available 11 hours per day in department and 24/7 on campus
- Security and patient sitters available for safety
Additional Information
- Nurses perform their own lab draws and start IVs; no separate IV team
- Caribbean Blue scrubs required
- Auto lunch deductions apply for shifts from 9a-9p
- Driver’s license address must be included in application submission for consideration
- Must be willing to work within a 75-mile radius rule
This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Department RNs with strong Meditech EMR skills and trauma nursing certifications seeking a mid-length travel assignment.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department nursing experience, including experience within the last year
