Registered Nurse – Step Down Unit

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Shift Details

• Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Total hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Stepdown nursing experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background checks including national criminal, state, county, SSN trace, sex offender, and federal exclusions
• Education verification with official transcript or diploma including graduation date
• Missouri EDL Search within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required)
• Immunizations/vaccinations or documented immunity/declination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year of start, updated annually; additional requirements if TB positive
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season or approved medical/religious exemption with mask mandate
• Fit mask testing completed onsite at orientation
• Two professional references within 3 years of start
• Employment application, skills checklist, and recent work history verification required

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Confidentiality Agreement and Code of Conduct acknowledgment must be reviewed and signed
• Agency Nurse Orientation Quiz with minimum score of 84% required prior to start
• AVADE training (onsite safety and skills validation) required for RN candidates in certain units if extending beyond initial contract
• Annual renewal of AVADE training if applicable

Additional Notes

• Locals within a 50-mile radius may be accepted at a reduced rate
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
