Registered Nurse - CVPICU (Pediatric ICU / Cardiovascular)
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work schedule: 12-hour shifts, day (7:00am–7:30pm) and night (7:30pm–7:00am) shifts available
- Typical workweek: Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and some holidays required
- Total hours per week: 36 hours
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of CVPICU experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Testing Requirements
- Telemetry pass/fail test must be completed 2 Fridays prior to start date and updated annually
- Candidates allowed 3 attempts on Telemetry test; remediation required after 2nd failed attempt
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including multi-location search for past 7 years
- Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and BID form required
- Drug screening required per standard clinical guidelines
- Education verification and primary source license verification required within 30 days of start
- Annual skills checklist and medication/pharmacology competency exams required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Proof of Tdap vaccination (one dose from adulthood) required
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers required; medical/religious exemptions considered
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer required; medical/religious exemptions considered
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or documented declination required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination required if working in Microbiology department
Additional Facility Requirements
- Passport-style photo for badge issuance (no selfies, headwear only for religious/medical reasons)
- Completion of communicable disease form within 90 days of start
- Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgment
- References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years (Aya standard)

- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
- Telemetry test is mandatory and specific to the facility’s standards
- Candidates must meet all certification renewal deadlines as specified by the facility
- Background reviews required for any pending or convicted criminal charges prior to start
