Description

Registered Nurse - PCU (Night Shift) - Travel/Contract

Location: Mountain Home, Arkansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Provide direct patient care and leadership within the nursing team.
  • Float to support ER hold, overflow units, adult and geriatric psych, and inpatient rehab units.
  • Utilize nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team to promote evidence-based care and a healing culture.

Schedule

  • Night shift
  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
  • Total 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Arkansas
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing
  • PCU experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Social Security Card copy.
  • E-Verify or attestation.
  • Background check: 7-year check within 6 months of start, annual updates required for direct candidates.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
  • Education verification.
  • Sex offender and state-specific criminal history checks within 30 days of start.
  • NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start.
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable, updated annually.
  • Facility-specific documents including dress code, pre-screening compliance checklist, TB questionnaire, and orientation materials.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (time sensitive: must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; positive TB requires chest X-ray within 5 years and annual questionnaire.
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (or declination)
    • Varicella
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; must meet facility timeframes.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
  • COVID vaccination documentation or exemption notification.

References & Work History

  • Two professional references required within 3 years of start.
  • Resume/application required.
  • Work history verification for the past 2 years.
  • Skills checklist updated annually.

Additional Notes

  • Fit testing for masks will be completed onsite during orientation.
  • Some certifications such as PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification, chemotherapy certification, and electronic fetal monitoring may be required as applicable—refer to job details for applicability.
  • Candidate must complete all required facility-specific forms prior to start.

This position offers a dynamic float role with a focus on stepdown nursing care and requires a strong clinical background and flexibility across multiple units. Night shift availability and prior travel experience are important considerations.
