Description

Sonographer (Echo Tech)

Location: Wheeling, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Work schedule options: Monday-Friday with either 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts
Shift hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, plus on-call from 5:30 PM - 7:00 AM and 24-hour coverage on weekends and holidays
Average workload: 35-50 studies per day depending on staffing
Studies performed: Echocardiograms (Echo), Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), Stress Echocardiograms
Patient setting: Both inpatient and outpatient
Orientation: Hospital orientation on Monday, followed by floor-specific orientation Tuesday through Friday
Dress code: No specific scrub colors required; neat and professional appearance expected
Radiology support: Vascular surgeon reads in-house; cardiologist available on call after hours

Required Qualifications

Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – Adult Echocardiography (RDCS-AE) certification via ARDMS
Must have at least 1 year of active scanning experience within the last 2 years
Valid, unexpired driver’s license (submission must include a copy)
Disclosure of any licensing issues at time of submission

Equipment & Systems

EMR system: Sunrise
Ultrasound equipment: Phillips Epics

Additional Notes

Candidates must comply with a 50-mile radius rule for travel to the facility
On-call duties include nights and weekends, rotating with other staff members
