Registered Nurse – Float Pool (Night Shift)

Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced RN to work primarily in ICU units including Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU. The role requires ICU experience with flexibility to float to Medical Surgical as needed. Extensive cardiac experience is required.


Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, standards of care, and state laws.
  • Document care according to standards.
  • Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family education.
  • Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
  • Apply critical thinking focused on patient safety and experience, escalating issues appropriately.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of 2 years ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
