Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Night Shift)

Location

  • City: New Haven, Connecticut

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend
  • Guaranteed hours
  • Block scheduling accommodations available
  • No on-call required

Job Description

  • Work primarily in the Emergency Department (ED) with cross-training and floating to other campuses and ED observation units
  • Average nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6 (both day and night)
  • Assigned to one campus with possible rotation to other campuses and ED observation
  • Travelers will not be assigned trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units
  • Level 1 Trauma experience is required
  • Must float within scope to meet facility needs

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Connecticut
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
  • Trauma experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
