Registered Nurse - NICU
Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Varied shifts including days, nights, and weekends
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and implement patient and family education, and initiate appropriate interventions. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, individualized care planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice. The nurse promotes health and safety, integrates ethical and research-based practices, and provides leadership within the professional setting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana
- Minimum 1 year of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience within the last year
- Experience in Labor and Delivery, Emergency Department (ED), or Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- STABLE certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Collect and analyze comprehensive patient data to determine diagnoses and issues
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care with strategies to achieve expected outcomes
- Promote health and maintain a safe environment
- Continuously improve nursing practice quality and effectiveness
- Evaluate own nursing practice against professional standards and regulations
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Integrate ethical provisions and research findings into nursing practice
- Provide leadership in the professional practice setting

Additional Requirements
- Compliance with stroke care policies and participation in stroke education:
- Two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one year of hire
- One hour of annual cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education thereafter
Notes
- The facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances.
