Job Opportunity: Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: Cardiac Intermediate Care (IMC)
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week (12 hours each), total 36 hours/week
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
- Patient Diagnoses:
- Cardiology: ACS, NSTEMI, heart failure management, pre/post cardiac catheterization, arrhythmia management
- Electrophysiology Services: pacemaker placement, arrhythmia management
- Cardiac Surgery: CABG, valve replacement, TAVR
- Vascular Surgery: amputations, fem-pop bypass
- Advanced Heart Failure: pre/post heart transplant, ventricular assist device, inotrope support
- Special Equipment: Safe patient mobilization equipment (ceiling lifts) available in most patient rooms
- Charting System: Epic
- Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care, Magnet recognized, Teaching hospital, Level I Trauma Center
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Progressive Care Unit, with at least 1 year of recent experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in telemetry nursing
Additional Information
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Locals: Accepted
- On-Call: Not required
- Floating: May float within scope to Acute Care/IMC units
- Schedule Flexibility: Block scheduling not guaranteed
- Time Off: Limited request time off (RTO) allowed; must be approved and added to end of contract if exceeding limits
- Parking: $16 daily pass (8am-5pm); public transportation encouraged
Compliance & Documentation
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day
- Must complete facility-specific policies and professional appearance agreements prior to start
- Must complete and sign coronavirus protocol attestation
- Must complete advanced screening release authorization forms as required
- Must maintain full availability for compliance needs until start date
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity cardiac telemetry unit within a Magnet-recognized, teaching, Level I trauma hospital. The role requires strong cardiac telemetry skills, relevant certifications, and the ability to work night shifts with a 1:4 patient ratio.
