Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry (IMC) position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital in Oregon, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience and an active OR RN license.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting; Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and teaching facility
  • Cardiac Intermediate Care (IMC) unit serving cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and advanced heart failure patients
  • Patient diagnoses include ACS, NSTEMI, HF management, pre/post cath care, arrhythmia management, pacemaker placement, CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, vascular surgery, VAD support, and pre/post heart transplant care
  • Patient ratio: 1:4
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00), 36 hours per week
  • 4 weekend shifts per month required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required within scope to Acute Care/IMC, including a potential nearby affiliate hospital; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
  • Charting via Epic (highly preferred)
  • Safe patient mobilization equipment, including ceiling lifts, available in the majority of patient rooms
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate; no radius restriction

Requirements

  • Active Oregon (OR) RN license required; pending license accepted if application has been submitted and received by the licensing board to qualify for the 90-day license exemption
  • Minimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Cardiac telemetry skills required
  • Epic EMR experience highly preferred
  • Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required; charge RN references are not acceptable
  • COVID vaccination required; no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

  • Provides nursing care to a complex cardiac IMC population including pre/post-procedural and surgical patients, advanced heart failure, and electrophysiology cases
  • Provider coverage is team-dependent; all teams have an on-call provider 24/7, and most teams have a provider in-house 24/7
  • Scrubs: any solid color (no prints); scrubs are provided
  • Parking is available for a daily fee ($16); public transportation is highly encouraged
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former employees or previous travelers at this facility must have been away for at least 6 months before returning; a reference from the supervising manager at this facility is required
  • RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days for a 13-week contract; any approved time beyond 5 days must be added to the end of the contract to maintain a full 13-week assignment
  • All RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration and may not exceed 2 consecutive weeks
