Physical Therapist - Home Health
Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work schedule:
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Option for 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts if preferred
- Call requirement: 1 Sunday every 5 weeks
- Weekend rotation: Every 5th week, work Saturday and Sunday doing admits, with 2 days off during the week
- Coverage area includes 13 counties; travel to furthest areas rotates weekly
- When travel distance is long, fewer patients are scheduled for the day
- Dress code: No printed scrubs; acceptable colors are black, grey, or khaki pants with polo or scrub top
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Home Health Physical Therapy
- Valid Physical Therapist (PT) state license for Missouri (pending license acceptable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree required
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid driver’s license or state ID
- Background check within 30 days of start, including:
- National criminal check
- State and county searches (10 years of all addresses and aliases)
- SSN trace with aliases
- National sex offender check
- Federal exclusion lists (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
- Education verification with official transcript or diploma including graduation date
- Missouri EDL Search within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
- Drug screen within 30 days of start (includes multiple drug panels)
- Immunizations/vaccinations or documented immunity/declination for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year of start, with additional requirements if positive
- Fit mask testing completed onsite at orientation
- Two professional references within 3 years of start
- Employment application, skills checklist, and work history verification required
Additional Notes
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Primary source verification required for state license within 30 days of start
- Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing may be required
- Basic dysrhythmia exam and medication/pharmacology competency exams may apply depending on specialty and facility requirements (not typically for PT)
