CT Technologist (Computed Tomography)
Location: Mountain Home, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Department: Radiology | CT
- Unit: Imaging Services
- Equipment: 1 Siemens Definition AS CT scanner
- Typical workload: Average of 18 scans/studies per 24-hour period
- Imaging types: Routine outpatient, Emergency Department, Code Stroke, and others
- EMR: EPIC
- PACS: McKesson
- Radiologist coverage: Tele-radiologist available by phone; advanced practitioners present during the week for procedures
- Orientation: 1 week with preceptor to complete skills checklist
- Work environment: Small hospital with strong department camaraderie; travelers report it as a great place to work
Schedule & Shifts
- Days: Varying start times at 7:30 AM and 12:00 PM, typically 8-hour shifts
- Nights: Typically 12-hour shifts from 7:30 PM to 8:00 AM
- Weekend: Variable; may be asked to work full weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Holidays: May be required to work holiday rotations, especially if holidays fall on weekends
- Call: Voluntary call for permanent staff; travelers typically not required to participate in call rotation
Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging studies using Siemens CT equipment
- May be asked to float to X-ray during day shifts; CT tech covers X-ray for overnight shifts
- Occasionally start IVs, but nursing support is available
- Expected to work independently
Required Qualifications
- Certified CT Technologist (ARRT CT)
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Experience with Siemens CT systems is required
- Venipuncture experience preferred but not mandatory
- First-time travelers accepted
Additional Information
- Dress code: Any color scrubs; OR scrubs available
- Staffing: Typically 1 technologist per shift
- Radius rule: Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel assignment
Summary
This is a 13-week CT Technologist contract position requiring ARRT CT certification and Siemens system experience. The role involves working independently in a small hospital setting with a supportive team, covering CT and occasionally X-ray imaging. Shifts include days, nights, weekends, and holidays with flexible scheduling. First-time travelers are welcome.
