Description
Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per contract
- On-call: Yes, as needed
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
- Locals accepted, no radius restrictions
- Must have active Illinois license prior to start (no pending licenses accepted)
- Must be physically present in Illinois 3 business days before start for fingerprinting compliance
- Electronic charting system: Cerner
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Experience with Cerner electronic charting system
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and ARRT or RCIS
Certifications & Licenses
- Active Illinois license required
- ACLS (AHA or RQI acceptable)
- BLS (AHA or RQI acceptable)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
Work Environment & Facility
- Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center
- Magnet designated facility
- Total staffed beds: 562
- Parking permit required (no cost)
- Scrub color provided
Additional Requirements
- Background checks including criminal, sex offender, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific searches required within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including labs scheduled/completed within 7 days of contract signing
- Fit mask test required prior to start (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
- Competency exam required before start
- References: 2 professional references required
- Badge photo required before start
- Completion of computer-based learning modules before orientation
Scheduling & Other Notes
- Guaranteed hours subject to client call-offs (up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay)
- Block schedule requests can be discussed with manager
- Return-to-office restrictions ideally no more than 5 days
Prior Travel Experience
- First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)
