Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist for a 13–26 week travel assignment at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of cardiac cath lab experience and active ARRT or RCIS certification.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in a dedicated Cardiac Cath Lab — no IR coverage required
• Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds
• Procedures include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, left and right heart cath, PCI, PTCA, rotablader atherectomy, IABP placement/removal, cardiac stent placement, and cardiac implant closure device
• Middle and older adult patient population
• 4x12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• 2–3 weekend shifts required per contract
• On-call is required on a rotating basis with staff and agency travelers; call frequency is flexible based on census and to be discussed with the manager
• Contract length is flexible at 13 or 26 weeks
• Charting in Cerner (experience required)
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility is required of all travelers
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius requirement

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab required
• Active ACLS, BLS, and either ARRT or RCIS certification required
• AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI AHA cards are not accepted
• Proficiency in cardiac cath lab procedures including PCI, PTCA, IABP, rotablader atherectomy, left/right heart catheterization, and scrub procedures
• Experience with equipment setup, sterile technique, isolation precautions, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• License required if applicable — active professional license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
• RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
• Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted
• Scrubs are provided
• Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
• Block schedule requests can be discussed with the manager
