Pharmacist Inpatient - Travel/Contract Position

Location: West Plains, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift Schedule:

  • Wed-Tue rotation: 7 days on, 7 days off
  • Weekday night shifts: 7:30 PM – 5:30 AM (10 hours)
  • Weekend night shifts: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (12 hours)
• Weekends: Required
• Work Environment:

  • Pharmacist is the sole staff member in inpatient pharmacy overnight (no pharmacy technician coverage)
  • Not expected to attend code blues or rapid responses
  • Responsibilities include order verification and managing clinical alerts via PharmacyOneSource

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pharmacist license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience within the last year
• Dosing experience in:

  • Anticoagulation therapy
  • Clinical dosing
  • Geriatric dosing
  • High-alert medication dosing
  • Pediatric dosing
  • Pharmacokinetic dosing
  • Renal dosing
  • Therapeutic medication monitoring
  • Warfarin dosing
• Intravenous antibiotic preparation

Facility & Compliance Requirements

• Locals Allowed: No (must comply with 60-mile radius restriction)
• EMR System: Meditech required
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Instant background check acceptable
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Identification: Government-issued photo ID required on person during hours of service
• Health Requirements:

  • Initial physical exam and annual updates confirming ability to meet physical demands
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Immunizations or titers required for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required annually (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
  • COVID vaccine required or approved medical/religious exemption
  • 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations

Additional Notes

• Facility is entirely nicotine-free; no smoking areas on campus
• Orientation includes competency exams and pass/fail testing on medication and EKG knowledge
• Candidates must comply with facility-specific dress code and parking policies (review only)
• COVID exemption requests are subject to facility review and approval

This position is ideal for pharmacists with at least one year of experience who are comfortable working independently overnight in an inpatient setting with a focus on clinical dosing and medication management.
