Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital
Location: Walla Walla, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off; 10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM), approximately 30 hours per week
- Patient Load: 10-12 patients per day
- Float: Position may float between units
- Weekends: Required
- On-call: Not required
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care / Level III Trauma Center
- Beds: 104 staffed beds
- Charting System: Epic
- Parking: No fee
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Washington
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Check: Must be completed within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; updated annually
- Education Verification: Required for all candidates to verify degree(s)
- References: Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment Application: Must include at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
- Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instant tests acceptable
- Immunizations & Health:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention policies
- Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for travel candidates; involves virtual questionnaire reviewed by licensed healthcare professional
- Fit Mask Testing: Required annually for travel candidates; onsite testing available if no valid record within 1 year
Training & Competency
- Annual Regulatory Modules: Required for all caregivers; approximately 3.5 hours to complete via online LMS
- Epic Training: Completion of Epic modules required within a week of orientation; transcripts must be submitted
- Competency Exams: As applicable by profession/specialty
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency: Required as applicable

- Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities
- Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with neutral background required prior to start
