Job Opportunity: GI Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a GI Lab unit with 11 pre/post procedure bays and 3 procedure rooms, exclusively serving GI patients.
• Patient population: Adult to Geriatric.
• Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM).
• On-call required 1 time per week (3:30 PM – 7:00 AM).
• 3 weekend on-call shifts per contract (Friday 3:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM).
• Scrub color: Grey.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
• Minimum 1 year of GI Lab experience within the last year.
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually).
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q-Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year, updated annually; if positive, chest x-ray and annual TB questionnaire required.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity/declination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola) – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
  • Mumps – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
  • Rubella – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer.
  • Hepatitis B – vaccination series, titer, or declination.
• Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt).
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (not required annually), covering a comprehensive panel of substances.
• Fit mask testing completed onsite at orientation.

Documentation and Compliance

• Must complete and sign confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, demographic form, and orientation quiz (minimum 84% score).
• References: 2 professional references within 3 years.
• Employment application and skills checklist required.
• Verification of most recent employment required.

Additional Notes

• Return travelers within one year may be required to complete AVADE training if extending contract.
• Onsite AVADE training required for RN candidates if contract is extended beyond initial term.
• RTO (Request Time Off) limit: 2 requests per contract.

This position is ideal for experienced GI Lab RNs who meet the certification and licensure requirements and are comfortable with on-call responsibilities and weekend coverage.
