• Unit: Emergency Room
• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (5:45 AM - 6:15 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (day shift weekends are every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday)
• First-time Travelers: Not accepted
• Local Radius Rule: Candidates must be outside a 75-mile radius (no locals accepted)
• Floating: No floating required
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
• On-call: Not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Compliance and Background Requirements

• Government-issued ID required (Driver’s license for Home Health positions)
• Criminal background check within 6 months, including:

  • Statewide searches
  • MO State Highway Patrol check
  • Nationwide and international searches if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG quarterly checks
• Education verification of highest nursing degree (cannot pend at start)
• Fingerprinting required for Illinois long-term care or rehab assignments (not applicable here)
• State-specific exclusion and registry checks as applicable
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually; onsite testing available if needed
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (2 negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold acceptable)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as per unit requirements
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 30 - Apr 1)
• HIPAA Acknowledgement, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Confidentiality Form, Hand Hygiene Policy, Fingernail Policy, Dress Code Policy, and Regulatory Compliance Education must be completed and updated annually
• Employment application and professional references required (2 professional references preferred, supervisors within last year ideal)
• Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be updated annually

Additional Notes

• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week for 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• No special requirements or accommodations for block scheduling or floating
• Candidates must have a recent badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
• Orientation modules required for all RNs, completed through online training platform, approximately 16 hours
• No on-call or floating duties expected
• No locals accepted within 75 miles radius
