Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Must apply for Allied Health licensure within 72 hours of signing the contract.
  • Work schedule:
    • 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
    • Night shifts:
      • 4 shifts of 10 hours each (Wednesday to Saturday, 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
      • 3 shifts of 12 hours each (Sunday to Tuesday, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Experience required in Emergency Department (ED), inpatient, and outpatient settings.
  • Candidate expected to float between ED, main campus, outpatient, and nearby clinics.
  • Must have experience with Epic and GE systems.
  • Unit does not accept first-time travelers.
  • Must be willing to work on holidays if scheduled.
  • Upon starting, may be assigned to an Emergency Team with expectation to stay onsite during emergency events or be part of relief teams as directed by unit manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Louisiana
  • ARRT (CT) certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment
  • Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Experience in Emergency Department (EMT/ER Technician experience)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • Experience with GE Healthcare imaging systems

Required Documents and Compliance

  • Valid, current driver’s license or government photo ID (color copy).
  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
  • Education verification or transcript/diploma if verification cannot be completed.
  • Sex offender search within 30 days of start, updated monthly.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (instant screenings not accepted).
  • Physical exam within 12 months indicating good health.
  • Fit mask testing (N95) within one year of start; onsite fit testing available if needed.
  • Immunizations/vaccinations or proof of immunity required for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for ED, Pediatrics, Mother/Baby, NICU)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or completed vaccine series)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer, completed vaccine series, booster, or signed declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer, completed vaccine series, or booster)
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 12 months, updated annually; if positive, additional documentation required.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination, declination, or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31).
  • Employment application and updated skills checklist required.
  • Color passport-style photo for badge upload within 24 hours of booking.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must be comfortable with emergency preparedness protocols, including potential extended stays during emergency events.
  • Competency exams specific to specialty required annually with a minimum passing score of 80%.
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification not required for this specialty.
  • This position requires flexibility to float across multiple units and work a demanding night schedule.

This opportunity is suited for experienced CT Technologists with ARRT (CT) certification, prior travel experience, and the ability to work a night shift schedule in a fast-paced, multi-setting environment.
