- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Total 36 hours per week
Job Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- Neuro (NEURO) experience
- One completed travel nursing assignment
- Certifications required:
- ACLS
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background checks including:
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start (SSN, counties, national, OFAC, sex offender)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification (transcript or diploma acceptable)
- State-specific checks for Texas (DADS Employability Status and Employee Misconduct Registry) within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
- Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start (e.g., vaccination info, TB and occupational exposure, confidentiality, compliance, patient-centered pledge, contract receipt)
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
- Fit mask (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S) required and must be updated annually
- Immunizations and health requirements (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing):
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual updates as applicable)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines (boosters if non-immune)
- Hepatitis B: positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if non-immune)
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted
- Drug testing:
- Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start (no pending results allowed)
- Facility will conduct additional drug screen on arrival; positive results lead to cancellation
- Pass/fail testing for Telemetry RNs (EKG/Medication) with up to 2 attempts allowed
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
- Color blindness testing (online Ishihara test) required
- Annual updates required for safety manual acknowledgment and skills checklist
Additional Notes
- Start date preferred: July 13; may consider July 27
- Orientation includes mandatory modules (~3-4 hours)
- Parking available at no cost during and after orientation
- Two professional references required within 3 years of start
- Resume or employment application copy required
This position is ideal for experienced Telemetry RNs with strong neurological skills and prior travel nursing experience, ready to work night shifts in Texas on a 13-week travel contract.
