Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse

Location: Jerseyville, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: Tuesday through Thursday, 4 shifts of 9 hours each (4x9 hour shifts)
• Shift Hours: Day shift, approximately 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (12-hour shifts noted, but description specifies 4x9 hour shifts)
• Work includes 8 hours of procedures and 1 hour assisting in the department
• Unit: Endoscopy with experience required in GI Lab, outpatient surgery, infusion, Olympus scopes, ERBE, polyp snares, foreign body equipment, opioid analgesics, reversal agents, colonoscopy, ERCP, EGD, specimen handling/labeling
• Charting system: Cerner
• Facility type: Acute Care Hospital with 65 staffed beds
• Parking: Free in any unrestricted space
• Location: Less than 1 hour from St. Louis, about 45 minutes from Scott Air Force Base

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in an outpatient setting
• Infusion experience
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Additional Requirements

• Background checks including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide, sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG (some annually required)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test required
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID vaccination accepted with medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed
• Professional references:

  • 2 for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles
  • 1 for per diem non-acute care roles
• Annual competency exams and skills checklist as applicable

• Return to Office (RTO) parameters to be discussed with manager during interview
• Scrub color: Any; no tee shirts, sweatshirts, or logos from other organizations allowed
