Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Milford, Connecticut
Shift: Nights, 4 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work setting: General Emergency Department (combined Adult and Pediatric) in a short-term acute care hospital with Level II Trauma Center designation
- Required experience managing dysrhythmias
- Required IV therapy/phlebotomy skills: central line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs
- Required medication experience: IV vasopressors
- Required respiratory skills: CPAP/BiPAP, ventilated patients
- Professional skills: isolation precautions, triage
- Floating: may be required to float to other units
- Weekend requirement: work every other weekend
- Charting system: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Connecticut
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with both Adult and Pediatric patients
