Occupational Therapist - Outpatient Rehab Center

Location: Freehold, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Work Hours

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Day shift, 5x8 hours)
• No weekends or holiday shifts required
• 40 hours per week
• Charting experience with EPIC required
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Accepts first-time travelers and local candidates

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in New Jersey
• Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Clinical Skills & Work Setting

• Adult outpatient rehabilitation focusing on orthopedics, arthritis, stroke (CVA) rehabilitation, and upper extremity therapy
• Skilled in assessment, discharge planning, plan of care, and reassessments
• Proficient in home exercise programs, lifting and transfer techniques, patient/family education, and safety/injury prevention
• 1:1 patient ratio

Background & Health Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start covering past 7 years, completed through designated vendor
• Physical exam or "Fit for Work" statement within 12 months of start (including weight, height, blood pressure)
• Negative TB test (IGRA Quantaferon Gold or TSPOT) within 1 year of start; 2-step PPD accepted as substitute
• Positive MMR titer with booster if low titer (measles, mumps, rubella)
• Positive Varicella titer with booster if low titer
• Hepatitis B titer preferred; declination allowed
• 10-panel urine drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, cannabinoids, cocaine, opiates, oxycodone, phencyclidine, methadone, benzodiazepine, meperidine)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season; declinations not accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination required; medical/religious exemptions allowed but declinations not accepted

Documentation & Compliance

• Two current professional references related to occupational therapy work within past 2 years, completed by supervisor or manager
• Employment application or resume required
• Skills checklist relevant to the position/unit
• Employment verification for past 2 years required (New Jersey candidates must have minimum 1 year verified with no gaps over 30 days)
• Passport-style photo for badge (headshot, shoulders up, no hats/masks/sunglasses, neutral background)
• Completion of facility-specific privacy, security, and email access guidelines within 48 hours of signing

• Scrubs of any color allowed
• RTLS badge details provided upon submission instructions
• No weekend or holiday work required
• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
• First-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience not required
