Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry Unit
Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Patient Ratio: 1:7
Unit & Job Details
- Unit: 5 East – Oncology/MedSurg/Telemetry & Vascular Access
- Float, holidays, every other weekend, and weekday shifts required within contract
- No blocked schedule requests accommodated
- Must be proficient in EPIC electronic health record system (no exceptions)
- Required skills: IV start, telemetry interpretation
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Background & Compliance
- Zero tolerance for any license or background hits; candidates with any hits will not be considered
- 7-year criminal background check required within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and for every contract renewal
- Fingerprinting required via Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check; must be completed prior to start for certain units
- Must submit government-issued photo ID and passport-style photo meeting facility specifications before start
- Must provide proof of 2 professional references
- Complete employment application/resume required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, updated annually
- Must submit Qualivis Cover Sheet and current NURSYS report including all Return to Office (RTO) information
- No candidates with permanent address less than 50 miles from facility will be considered; current address must be included in submission
Additional Requirements
- Acknowledgement of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing required
- Pyxis acknowledgment form must be completed within 48 hours of signing (RNs only)
- TB questionnaire required if worked longer than 1 year with facility
- Vehicle registration form required before start
- Job description form specific to unit/profession required
