Registered Nurse – ER (Midland, Texas)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Urgent need for ER Registered Nurse experienced with adults and children
- Must have minimum 2 years of ER experience in a facility of equivalent size
- Experience in Level II or III trauma centers required
- Recent ER travel experience within the past 6-8 months preferred
- Certifications required or must be willing to obtain: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- Experience working with Level II trauma patients
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification or competency
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
Required Documents & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background checks including 10-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
- Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal History Search and Employee Misconduct Registry within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification of RN license within 30 days of start
- Education verification and highest level diploma/transcript as applicable
- Confidentiality and Security Agreement signed prior to start
- Drug screening and blood testing consent form signed; onsite drug screen during orientation
- TB questionnaire and negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months; chest x-ray if positive
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
- N95 Fit Test within 1 year of start (PAPR not accepted)
- Immunizations/vaccinations or positive titers required within 72 hours of contract signing:
- TDAP (within 10 years)
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella (Chicken Pox)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; additional onsite drug screen upon arrival
- Flu vaccination or agency declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
- References: 2 required within 3 years of start
- Resume or employment application copy required
- Annual updates required for background checks, competency exams, and orientation safety manual acknowledgment
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Age-specific competency exam within 1 year of start
- Competency exam within 1 year of start

- Candidate must complete facility-specific orientation and compliance forms prior to start
- Must be prepared to work in a Level II or III trauma ER setting with both adult and pediatric patients
- Prior recent travel ER experience preferred but not mandatory
