Job Description

• Urgent need for ER Registered Nurse experienced with adults and children
• Must have minimum 2 years of ER experience in a facility of equivalent size
• Experience in Level II or III trauma centers required
• Recent ER travel experience within the past 6-8 months preferred
• Certifications required or must be willing to obtain: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
• Experience working with Level II trauma patients
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification or competency
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement

Required Documents & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including 10-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
• Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal History Search and Employee Misconduct Registry within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification of RN license within 30 days of start
• Education verification and highest level diploma/transcript as applicable
• Confidentiality and Security Agreement signed prior to start
• Drug screening and blood testing consent form signed; onsite drug screen during orientation
• TB questionnaire and negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months; chest x-ray if positive
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
• N95 Fit Test within 1 year of start (PAPR not accepted)
• Immunizations/vaccinations or positive titers required within 72 hours of contract signing:

  • TDAP (within 10 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; additional onsite drug screen upon arrival
• Flu vaccination or agency declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• References: 2 required within 3 years of start
• Resume or employment application copy required
• Annual updates required for background checks, competency exams, and orientation safety manual acknowledgment

Competency Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Age-specific competency exam within 1 year of start
• Competency exam within 1 year of start

• Candidate must complete facility-specific orientation and compliance forms prior to start
• Must be prepared to work in a Level II or III trauma ER setting with both adult and pediatric patients
• Prior recent travel ER experience preferred but not mandatory
