Description

MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts of 12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Description

  • Must have 2 years of experience in Radiology/Cardiology specialty.
  • Clinician may be required to float within scope to meet facility needs.
  • No local candidates accepted; candidate’s address must be more than 75 miles from the contracted facility.
  • No block scheduling accommodations.
  • No pending state licenses accepted.
  • No more than 5 days of Return to Office (RTO) allowed.
  • Charting system used: Epic.

Required Qualifications

  • MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • MRI Technologist experience within the last year.
  • Current and valid ARRT (MR) certification.

Competency and Testing Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (RNs and LPNs/LVNs) – must score 100%.
  • Color Blind Testing within 60 days prior to start (Ishihara preferred).
  • Unit-specific competency exams with minimum passing scores (usually 80-90%).
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam updated annually (if applicable).
  • Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) covering safety, patient rights, ethics, and workplace violence, updated annually.
  • Conscious Sedation Competency Exam for applicable RNs, updated annually.

Additional Facility Requirements

  • Completion of various facility-specific acknowledgments and policy forms prior to start (e.g., Code of Ethical Business Conduct, Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy, Information Access Agreement).
  • Fingerprinting and state-specific screening clearance required before start.
  • Vehicle information documentation must be completed before clearance.

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Locals are not accepted due to the 75-mile radius rule.
  • Candidates must include a valid driver’s license with their submission.
  • No block scheduling or local candidate exceptions.

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with at least 2 years of experience, valid ARRT MRI certification, and readiness to work night shifts on a travel contract basis outside their local area.
