Registered Nurse – Chemo (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Work in an outpatient clinic setting focused on Breast Oncology, Breast Surgery, and Plastic Surgery patients.
  • Responsibilities include telephone triage, in-basket handling, assisting providers during clinic visits, new and return patient visits, pre-op/post-op teaching, and chemotherapy teaching.
  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 9 hours per day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM).
  • Charting system: Epic.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum of 1 year of oncology experience, with oncology experience within the last year.
  • Chemotherapy (CHEMO) certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Experience working in a clinic and outpatient setting.

Additional Information

  • Facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level I Trauma Center with 1,567 staffed beds.
  • Parking cost approximately $125/month.
  • Scrub color: Royal blue.

Summary

This travel Registered Nurse position requires outpatient clinic and phone triage experience, along with chemotherapy certification. The role involves direct patient care and education for oncology and surgical patients in a multispecialty outpatient clinic. Multiple certifications, background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific training modules are mandatory for compliance. The contract is approximately 13 weeks with day shifts of 9 hours, 4 days per week.
