Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse

Location: Marlton, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Strong, recent Home Health experience required
• Patient population primarily includes those discharged from hospitals and nursing facilities
• Common diagnoses: Wound care, wound vacs, Pleurx drains, ostomies, heart failure, diabetes, oncology, post-surgical, and orthopedic cases
• Procedures performed include wound care and management of drains and ostomies
• Productivity expectation: Approximately 6 visits per day (admissions count as 2 visits)
• Work schedule: Day shift, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (5 days a week, 40 hours total)
• Weekend and holiday coverage: Every 5th weekend and every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
• Minimum 2 years of Home Health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Med Surg experience required
• Experience in a Home Health setting
• Experience with Epic EMR system
• Experience with OASIS documentation system
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC only, valid at contract start
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for applicable units (check if applicable)
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP) as applicable to specialty or unit (verify if required)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable)
• State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification for RNs
• Physical exam within the last 12 months
• Fit mask testing must be completed at designated Occupational Health within the first week of assignment (outside fit tests not accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol within 1 year of start
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen (without THC panel) within 6 months of start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by October 31 (flu season ends March 31)
• Visual acuity exam (20/40 or better)
• Latex questionnaire
• Two professional references within the last 2 years
• Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)
• Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start date (New Jersey state requirement)
• Facility-specific documents including badge photo, personal/auto insurance, and car registration for home health

Additional Notes

• No mileage reimbursement provided
• Candidates cannot start if certifications are expiring within 30 days of contract start
• Dysrhythmia testing and pass/fail exams are not required for this home health position
• Fit testing is mandatory before working first shift
