Job Opportunity: GI Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Unit: GI Lab with 11 pre/post procedure bays and 3 procedure rooms
Patient Population: Adult to Geriatric GI patients only
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
On-Call Requirements:
- 1 weekday call per week (3:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- 3 weekend on-call shifts per contract (Friday 3:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM)

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
Minimum 1 year of GI Lab experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Competency & Testing Requirements

Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with minimum 84% score (2 attempts allowed)
Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
Pass/fail testing including basic dysrhythmia exam required for acute hospital RNs
Facility-specific orientation quiz with minimum 84% score prior to start

Documentation & Compliance

Employment application and skills checklist required
Verification of most recent employer and 2 professional references within 3 years
Confidentiality agreement and code of conduct acknowledgment must be signed
Facility-specific documents and study guides provided for preparation

Additional Notes

Return travelers within one year may be required to complete additional training
Onsite AVADE training may be required if contract is extended beyond initial period (not applicable at start)

This position is ideal for experienced GI Lab RNs who meet all licensure, certification, and compliance requirements and are ready for a 13-week travel assignment with day shifts and on-call responsibilities.
