Unit & Shift Details

• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nights, operates more like a telemetry unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday depending on rotation)
• Floating: Floating within scope to telemetry as needed
• Block scheduling: Not accommodated
• Local candidates within 75 miles radius not accepted
• First-time travel nurses accepted
• On-call: Not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Scheduling & Workload

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week
• Weekend shifts every other weekend as described above

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Government-issued ID required (e.g., driver's license)
• Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification of highest nursing degree required before start
• State-specific background checks and registries as applicable for Missouri
• Drug screening within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.), must remain valid throughout assignment
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) required and must be renewed annually; onsite testing available if needed
• Immunizations and health documentation:

  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • Tdap vaccine or declination required (expires every 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as per facility policy
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept 30 - Apr 1)
• HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start
• Regulatory compliance education and facility orientation modules required annually via online platform

Documentation & Other Requirements

• Professional references: Two required (supervisors preferred within last year)
• Employment application must be submitted and uploaded
• Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and unit-specific exams required annually
• Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
• Background and compliance documents must be current and uploaded prior to start

• Floating within telemetry scope expected
• Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this travel contract
• No block scheduling accommodations
• First-time travel nurses are welcome
