Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: 36 hours per week, every other week (EOW)
- Required trauma experience: Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid and verified within 30 days of start
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association certification required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certificate required
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma patients
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Fit test for respirator use
- COVID-19 vaccine proof (including booster by Sept 2025) or approved exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL)
- Influenza vaccine proof or declination (optional)
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA test required; positive TB requires chest x-ray within last year for CT
- Hepatitis B vaccination series started prior to start date (titers not accepted)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) proof of vaccination or immunity
- Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
- Tdap vaccine (declination accepted if no pediatric interaction)
- Physical exam within last year confirming fitness to work
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year
- Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors
- Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years) with SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start
- Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma/GED
- Various professional compliance forms and disclosures (e.g., code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, conflict of interest, audit services, system access) to be completed and uploaded as required
- National and federal exclusion screenings (EPLS, OIG, NSO, OFAC) dated within 30 days of start
- Trinity Core Exam (Joint Commission testing) within the last year
Additional Notes
- All certifications must be current and include front and back images of cards where applicable
- Documentation must be uploaded to the credentialing system prior to or at onboarding
- This position requires working night shifts in a high-acuity emergency department setting with trauma responsibilities
