Outpatient Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Onancock, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Position: Outpatient Physical Therapist
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
• No on-call duties
• Locals allowed at the same rate

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Virginia

Background and Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually
• Background check must cover all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Sex offender registry check required
• Motor Vehicle/Driver’s Record (MVR/DMV) required from state of license issuance (for Home Health & Hospice only)
• Minimum 3 years driving experience required if driving is part of the role
• Fingerprinting via Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check (effective 7/15/2025)
• Drug screen within last 12 months (specific drug panels required)
• TB screening: Negative TB test or chest x-ray within last 12 months; if positive, clearance letter signed by physician required
• Physical exam within last 12 months

Certifications and Training

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA, ARC, Military, or American Safety & Health Institute; online CPR not accepted)
• Other certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM) as applicable based on unit description (not specifically required for outpatient PT)
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable, to be completed within one year of start date
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and pass/fail testing required for all clinical positions

Immunizations and Health Requirements

• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; exemptions require facility approval
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; exemptions require facility approval
• Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or facility-specific declination
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (10/1–3/31); medical or religious exemptions accepted with approval
• COVID vaccine series preferred; if no vaccine, facility-specific declination form required

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge: recent, professional headshot meeting specific criteria
• Confidentiality agreement, scrub color policy, safety brochure, dress code policy, drug-free policy, and hand washing hygiene policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start
• TB questionnaire required annually
• Virginia State Police Check must be completed and cleared prior to start for applicable positions
• RHS Sworn Disclosure required for Lifelong Care, Home Health, Hospice, and Pharmacy positions (not specifically outpatient PT)
