Description
Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Assignment
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM (8-hour shift)
Start Date: ASAP
Employment Type: Travel, Full Time
Job Summary
- Assess and treat neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems using physical or mechanical means to maintain or restore function impaired by injury or disease.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Administer and oversee all physical therapy modalities and treatments, ensuring safety and appropriateness.
- Supervise and provide on-the-job training to PT Assistants and Rehabilitation Assistants.
- Maintain detailed patient treatment records, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Communicate regularly with referring physicians regarding patient progress and treatment adjustments.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
- Maintain professional competence through continuing education to meet licensure requirements.
Responsibilities
- Verify physician orders before evaluation and treatment.
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations including chart review and objective measurements.
- Apply or supervise treatments such as therapeutic exercises, hot/cold therapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, gait and balance training, and soft tissue mobilization.
- Ensure patient tolerance and safety during treatments.
- Organize and instruct patients and families on home exercise programs.
- Ensure documentation accurately reflects treatment sessions and time spent.
- Promote a team approach in rehabilitation services delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in New Mexico
- Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Degree in Physical Therapy at the Doctorate, Masters, Bachelors, or Associates level
Work Environment & Additional Details
- Dress code: Khaki pants and white polo.
- No weekend or on-call requirements.
- Blocked scheduling is not accommodated.
This position is a backfill replacement role.
