Cardiac Cath Lab Tech - Travel Position
Location: Tyler, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Work Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day

Job Summary
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist I supports cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing the lab and operating essential equipment such as fluoro imaging and digital image acquisition. This role involves accurate documentation of patient information and hemodynamic measurements while maintaining strict aseptic technique and patient safety standards. The technologist collaborates with the medical team to optimize patient care and departmental efficiency and serves as the radiation safety representative during X-ray use.
Electrophysiology experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure major equipment is operational and document quality control.
- Perform daily room checks and stock supplies.
- Review patient schedules and prepare equipment and room configuration for procedures.
- Collaborate with procedure team and Cath Lab Lead/Coordinator to ensure patient care and efficiency.
- Enter patient information into cath lab computer and imaging systems accurately.
- Document procedures, hemodynamic measurements, and ECG recognition during procedures.
- Position and secure patients safely on procedure tables.
- Set up and operate cath lab equipment including:
- X-Ray imaging
- Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)
- Intracardiac echo (ICE)
- Contrast injector
- Hemodynamic system
- Intra-aortic balloon pump
- Rotational atherectomy
- Thrombectomy
- Left ventricular assist device
- Support physicians during procedures, ensuring patient safety and proper table movement during imaging.
- Adhere 100% to aseptic technique and stop procedures if sterile technique is compromised.
- Follow organizational policies on patient safety, privacy, infection control, and communication.
- Share knowledge and foster teamwork within the department.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Maintain proficiency in access site management.
- Act as radiation safety representative during X-ray use.
- Perform fluoro imaging and digital image acquisition as directed.
- Comply with attendance policies, productivity standards, and dress code.
- Support department initiatives including process improvement and collaborative care models.
- Uphold core values of dignity, integrity, excellence, compassion, and stewardship.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Electrophysiology experience, including Electrophysiology Technician experience
- Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field or an acceptable equivalent
- Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS certification
