Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Day shift, either 4x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM) or 3x12-hour shifts
- Weekend Requirement: Work 2-3 weekends per contract
- On-call: Yes, rotating call as needed with staff and agency; call frequency flexible based on census
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
- Locals accepted with no radius restrictions
- Pending license not accepted; must have active license
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Required procedural skills:
- Cardiac Implant Closure Device
- Cardiac Stent Placement
- IABP placement/removal
- Left heart catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
- Right heart catheterization
- Rotablader athrectomy
- Scrub procedures
- Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Experience with Cerner Electronic Health Record system
Required Certifications & Licenses
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or RQI acceptable
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI acceptable
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
- Active license appropriate for Cath Lab Tech role (must be current)
Additional Requirements
- Background checks including criminal, sex offender, and state-specific searches within 30 days of start
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including labs within 7 days of contract signing
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption by November 30
- TB test (2-step PPD, TSPOT, or Qgold) within 1 year of start; chest x-ray if positive test within 1 year
- Competency exam required before start
- Photo for badge required within one week of contract signing
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules before first day of work
- References: Two professional references required

- Acute care hospital, Level I trauma center, Magnet designated
- Total staffed beds: 562
- Scrub color provided
- Parking permit required but no cost for parking
