Description

Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)

Job Overview

Coordinate nursing care for patients with behavioral health issues.
Participate in patient and family teaching.
Administer medications and treatments.
Utilize EMR systems, specifically Meditech.
Charge Nurse responsibilities on a 12-bed unit with a team nursing model.
No floating to other departments.

Schedule

8-hour rotating shifts.
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii (must apply immediately upon offer if not currently licensed).
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
Experience in Charge Nurse roles.
BLS certification.
NCI or other crisis prevention training.

Additional Information

Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
Orientation includes assignment to a mentor.
Dress code: clean and professional attire.
