Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:50 - 07:20)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Labor & Delivery RN position with ASAP start dates available (7/14 or 7/28)
• Float responsibilities include mother/baby and scrub roles
• Call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Scrub experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Cerner electronic health record experience preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with recent experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in charge nurse roles

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license if driving on behalf of the employer is an essential job function
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least two years of experience within the last three years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
• Background check within 90 days of start, including criminal, education verification, and other required screenings
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunization and health documentation required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • Documentation of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
• N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (may be completed onsite)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam and other competency exams required prior to start and updated regularly
• EKG/dysrhythmia competency exam may be required depending on unit assignment

Work Environment & Expectations

• Night shift with 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Floating between mother/baby and scrub roles
• Call shifts and weekend work required
• Use of Cerner electronic health record system

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs who have prior travel nursing experience and hold the required certifications. The role demands flexibility with floating and call responsibilities, as well as strong clinical and documentation skills.
