Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 3 shifts per week (Monday through Friday)
- Additional weekend shifts and/or on-call as needed (1-2 weekends per month)
- Holidays and weekends required if needed
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
Job Description
- Circulating nurse experience required in all surgical areas except cardiovascular surgery
- Must be familiar with circulating for cases including:
- Craniotomies
- Laparoscopic procedures
- Endovascular cases
- General surgery
- Orthopedics
- Neurosurgery
- Gynecology
- Urology
- Robotics-assisted surgery
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room circulating nurse experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN), and Urology
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- EPIC test-out required (one attempt only); candidates may start with EPIC pending but must complete onsite
- Appearance standards must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required as applicable
Additional Notes
- Locals and first-time travelers are accepted equally
- Interview required prior to placement
This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with strong circulating skills across multiple surgical specialties and recent Epic experience, seeking a 13-week travel contract with a structured day shift schedule and occasional weekend coverage.
