Description
Cath Lab Tech
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
On Call: 15 days per six-week schedule, including every 3rd weekend rotation
Job Description
- Assist physicians (Cardiologist/Radiologist) by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular lab procedures.
- Prepare procedure room and maintain adequate instrument and supply levels.
- Participate in staff meetings, performance improvement activities, and training of new staff.
- Support all invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Current professional license/certification relevant to Cath Lab Technician role, verified by primary source within 30 days of start and updated upon expiration.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
- National criminal background check within one year of start date (state-specific exceptions apply).
- Drug screening (minimum 10-panel including THC) within 60 days of start.
- Annual respirator fit test.
- Immunization or immunity proof for:
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (3 immunizations, immune titer, or declination accepted)
- Influenza vaccine or declination (required Nov 1 - Mar 31)
- Varicella (vaccination or immunity titer)
- Tdap (declinations not accepted in some states)
- Tuberculosis test within one year of start date.
- Annual physical/health statement confirming clearance to work.
- Completion of specialty and core competencies exams with a minimum score of 80%.
- Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation).
- State-required Elder Abuse Registry check (Missouri).
- Driver’s license, state ID, or passport for identification.
Required Documentation at Submission
- Up-to-date resume reflecting recent work history.
- Two professional references, including at least one from a manager or direct supervisor.
Additional Information
- Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
- Training and orientation may include department-specific skills checklist and workplace violence prevention training.
