Description

MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Weekends (Friday 9:30 AM - 10:00 PM; Saturday & Sunday 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM)
  • Hours per Week: 36 (3 shifts of 12 hours)
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Floating: Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live more than 75 miles from facility)
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 5 days allowed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist
  • MRI Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARRT (MR) certification required

Required Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Education verification with transcript/diploma matching highest degree
  • OFAC Sanctions List Search within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Work history verification covering last 10 years, including international positions and employment gaps
  • References: Two former direct supervisor references required (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • Basic Life Support (BLS): AHA or ARC required for all positions
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Check unit requirements; may be required
  • Tech Certification Verification: MRI - ARRT (MR) must be verified within 30 days of start
  • Competency Exams: Unit-specific competency exams required and must be updated annually
  • Core Competency Exams: Core Part I, II, and III exams required annually with passing scores
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement: HIPAA and OSHA acknowledgment required annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and no physical limitations
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
  • Immunizations or titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or declination with annual renewal)
    • Varicella (vaccination, titer, or history of chickenpox)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (Tdap mandatory for certain units)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required annually or agency-approved medical/religious exemption
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen including marijuana (required within 30 days prior to start and updated annually)
  • COVID-19 vaccination strongly preferred; declinations accepted with agency form

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of Patient Care Orientation Class (Skills) required for RNs (if applicable)
  • EPIC training required if no EPIC experience within last 6 months
  • Fit testing (N95 mask) completed onsite within 1 year of start
  • Completion of various policy acknowledgments prior to start, including:
    • Health Code of Ethical Business Conduct
    • Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy
    • Information Access Agreement
    • Oklahoma Offender Registration Act
    • Oklahoma Responsibilities and Rights (updated every 2 years)
  • Fingerprinting and state-specific screening clearance required prior to start

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must submit a current and valid driver’s license and utility bill as part of credentialing
  • No local candidates accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
  • No more than 5 days of return to office (RTO) allowed during contract
  • Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with at least 2 years of experience, ARRT (MR) certification, and readiness to work weekend 12-hour shifts on a travel contract basis in Oklahoma City.
