Registered Nurse – Endoscopy (Travel/Contract)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM), Monday through Friday with one day off
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Call/Weekend Requirements: None
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends or the day before/after holidays
  • Floating: Mandatory float within scope to meet facility needs

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
  • Minimum 3 years of endoscopy nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Perioperative nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
  • Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually; chest x-ray and TB questionnaire if history positive
  • Immunizations/vaccinations:
    • Tdap within 10 years or signed declination
    • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for measles, mumps, rubella (boosters if low titer)
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
    • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (booster if low titer)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – May 4)
  • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year; medical or religious exemptions require approval for onsite PAPR use
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
  • Completion of PromisePoint EMR training modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam and general competency exam required within 12 months of start (for starts on/after 4/14/24)
  • Color blind testing required within 12 months of start (for starts on/after 1/16/24)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must complete a 7-year employment application with no gaps greater than 30 days for background check processing
  • References follow state requirements for RNs
  • This is a mandatory float facility; all staff must float as needed within their scope of practice
