Description

Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours each)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work schedule: Friday through Sunday, 7 PM to 7 AM
  • Epic electronic health record system experience required
  • Locals allowed at the same rate

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia
  • Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience
  • CT Technologist experience within the last year

Background and Screening Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 60 days of start, including:
    • All states lived/worked in past 7 years
    • State of permanent residence
    • Statewide repository search (VA)
    • Nationwide FACIS Level 3

    • Education verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check fingerprint results required (results can pend if proof of submission is on file)
  • Virginia Central Registry (CPS) search required within 48 hours of contract signing; candidates may start with results pending if submission proof is on file
  • Fingerprinting required for all candidates booked to this pediatric facility and certain units; proof of submission must be on file prior to start
  • Education verification: Degree or certification from an accredited program required

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands of position
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination required
  • Negative TB test (Q-gold/T-spot within 30 days of start OR two PPDs including one within 30 days) or chest X-ray if positive PPD within 6 months
  • TB questionnaire required annually regardless of TB status
  • Titers required for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella; booster required if low titer
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination required
  • Drug screening within 60 days of start (9-panel minimum, instant drug screens not accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required for the flu season (10/1–5/31)
  • Flu vaccine exemption attestation required if applicable

Orientation and Training

  • Pharmacology exam, point of care testing, and airborne precaution mask fitting conducted at orientation (not pass/fail)
  • Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool (BKAT) for RNs and LPNs working in Telemetry/Step-Down, Progressive Care, and ICU units
  • Assigned learning modules on the facility’s learning platform to be completed by the end of orientation week (approximately 6 hours)
  • HIPAA confidentiality agreement required prior to start
  • Candidates must bring mask (cloth acceptable), non-wireless headphones, and laptop or cell phone to orientation (notify if unable to bring)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID during shifts
  • Fingerprinting results take approximately 21 business days; candidates must follow detailed submission instructions and provide notarized forms
  • Candidates can start with pending background and CPS results if proof of submission is on file
  • No onsite certification renewals; renewals must be scheduled prior to contract start
  • Performance evaluations will be completed at the end of the assignment, not required prior to start
