CT Tech - Radiology

Location: Springfield, Missouri

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (5x8, 36 hours/week)
Weekend Hours: As required by facility

Job Summary

Provide diagnostic CT scans for interpretation by radiologists and ordering physicians in a timely manner. Cover CT duties within the Emergency Room, inpatient, and outpatient departments as needed during the shift. Apply principles of radiation safety and organize the daily schedule as a dedicated resource to the CT team.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor's degree program
• Successful completion of an accredited Radiography program
• Registered with the ARRT in Radiography and CT (or registry eligible upon hire, with ARRT certification achieved within six months of employment)
• Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year, including X-ray experience
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Operate CT and related radiology equipment safely and effectively, including GE Revolution Ascend
• Perform venipuncture for CT contrast instillation and use pressure injectors correctly
• Produce diagnostic images with technical proficiency and recognize abnormalities
• Follow radiation safety and emergency procedures
• Review and verify physician orders and patient information prior to procedures
• Schedule patients and department resources appropriately
• Collaborate with staff and physicians to ensure optimal patient care
• Assist in training and orientation of new staff and contribute to quality improvement programs
• Manage exam documentation, image transmission, and charge entry in the electronic health record (EPIC)
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms and equipment
• Adapt procedures as needed based on patient condition
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, using two patient identifiers and explaining procedures clearly
• Float within the department as required
