Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Night Shift)

Unit and Shift Details
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nights, operates more like a telemetry unit
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
- Weekend Requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday depending on rotation)
Patient Ratios
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1:5-6
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- First-time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience is not required
Licensure and Certifications
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for all nurses)
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit specifics (e.g., Telemetry-related certifications)
Job Responsibilities and Expectations
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs on Telemetry units
- No on-call requirement
- Not open to block scheduling
- Locals within 75 miles radius are not accepted

- Charting system: EPIC

Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID required (e.g., driver's license)
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required before start
- Professional license primary source verification (NURSYS for Missouri)
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be current throughout assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually; onsite testing available if needed
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Annual completion of facility-specific regulatory compliance education and HIPAA acknowledgement
- Completion of facility orientation modules (approximately 16 hours) through online training platform
- Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
- Adherence to facility policies including hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies
References and History
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
- Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
- Employment application must be submitted and uploaded for facility review
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience
- Telemetry experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
