Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Total hours per week: 48
- Weekend requirement: 4-6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
- Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year, minimum 1 year required
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Compliance and Background Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Employment verification for the last 7 years
- Nationwide sex offender and education verification
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
- E-Verify or attestation as applicable
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative 2-step TB test, QGOLD, or TSPOT within 1 year of start
- Required immunizations/vaccinations with proper documentation:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented chickenpox history)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Competency and Training Requirements
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score or meet Angoff score)
- Color blindness test (online version accepted)
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and HIPAA compliance
Additional Notes
- Fingerprints must be redone for every new contract
- Fit testing for masks required annually; onsite fit test available at this location
- Medical exemptions for flu vaccine must be signed by a provider and approved
- References and employment application required internally but not for candidate clearance
Summary
This is a 13-week travel contract for a Labor and Delivery RN working day shifts with weekend coverage in Albuquerque, NM. Candidates should have at least 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience, an ASN or ADN degree, required certifications (ACLS, BLS, NRP), and meet comprehensive background, health, and competency requirements. First-time travelers are welcome.
