Description
Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Newport News, Virginia
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, Friday to Sunday, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (Friday through Sunday)
- Experience required: Minimum 2 years in Radiology/Cardiology specialty
- Must have experience with Epic and Siemens systems
- Proficiency with Siemens CT equipment required
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center required
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience with Epic software
Compliance and Background Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually
- Fingerprinting via Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check (effective 7/15/2025)
- Drug screen within the last 12 months
- Physical exam within the last 12 months
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the last 12 months (or appropriate clearance if positive)
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination during flu season (10/1–3/31) with deadlines for documentation and exemptions
- COVID vaccine series preferred; declination form accepted if no vaccine records available
Documentation and Orientation Requirements
- Recent professional photo for badge (taken within last 6 months, head-on, professional attire, neutral background)
- Signed confidentiality agreement, scrub color policy, safety brochure, dress code policy, drug-free policy, and hand washing hygiene policy prior to start
- Completion of orientation including pass/fail testing (e.g., EKG/medication competency exams) as applicable
- Annual CEUs for stroke education required for RNs in acute care settings (not applicable for this CT Tech role but noted for reference)
