Job Description

• Provide patient care following wound, ostomy, and continence nursing guidelines and standards.
• Serve as a liaison for wound, ostomy, and continence care concerns.
• Educate team members and participate in assigned committees.
• Assess physical, psychological, and social needs of assigned patients; initiate data collection and assessments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to develop and modify patient care plans.
• Implement nursing interventions, medical orders, and related therapies.
• Educate patients and their support systems in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Monitor and perform routine and complex treatments including ostomy care, wound care with drainage, care of fistulas, percutaneous tubes, and management of fecal and urinary incontinence.
• Document patient care and responses in accordance with professional standards.
• Comply with mandatory reporting, legal consent, transfer protocols, and patient rights.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment by following safety policies and procedures.
• Handle biomedical, pharmaceutical, hazardous, and universal wastes per regulatory requirements.
• May be required to safely handle hazardous drugs including receipt, storage, compounding, repackaging, dispensing, transporting, and disposal.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine
• Ambulatory Care (2 years of experience)
• Ambulatory Care experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in a(n) Inpatient setting
• Continence care experience
• Ostomy care experience
• Wound Care experience
